IASL is an international scientific association founded at 1992. The objective of IASL is the cultivation and the development of the Science, the research and the teaching of Sports Law and the institution of the Olympic Games.

IASL members may be natural and/or legal persons actively participating in the research, teaching and practical application of Sports Law as well as the institution of the Olympic Games.

Forthcoming Sports Law Congress

The 14th International Sports Law Congress, of IASL, will take place at the University of Athens, Central Building and at the Hotel "TITANIA", from Friday 28 November 2008 to Saturday 29 November 2008. In this congress will be presented papers from the entire spectrum on the Sports Law, further more: National Legislation and Professional Sport, Human Rights in Sports Activities, Sports Jurisdictional Order and Negative Phenomena in Sports Activities.

International Sports Law Review

The Official Journal of IASL is "International Sports Law Review Pandektis", published twice per year and bound as a volume every two years. Is directed by an Editorial Committee presided by Dimitrios Panagiotopoulos Asst. Professor, University of Athens.

The last issue of É.S.L.R./Pandektis contains several articles on current issues of the science of sports law (e.g. a paper concerning the rules of the new FIFA Regulations for the status and transfer of players).

International Sports Law And Lex Sportiva, Adstract in XI IASL Congress

This paper is a continuation of the thesis put forward by Professor Panagiotopoulos about the special nature of Lex Sportiva. It will examine the nature and the quality of Lex Sportiva in the context of international law, will indicate the special features of Lex Sportiva and try to establish the legal nature of international sports law as a subspecies of international law, or as a different species of law.
